Lead Data Engineer
Job Summary
To support the transition of healthcare data into athenahealth systems, the full-time remote Lead Data Engineer will design and maintain ETL workflows, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure data quality throughout the migration process.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and support ETL workflows for extracting, transforming, and loading data from legacy EHR systems
- Write and maintain Python and SQL scripts for data analysis, validation, and automation activities
- Partner with internal teams to define migration requirements and identify data issues for resolution
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, ETL, data migration, or a related technical discipline
- Proficiency in ETL, SQL, and Python
- Familiarity with HL7 and FHIR interoperability standards
- Experience working with healthcare data or implementation-focused teams preferred
