Lead Data Engineer
Job Summary
To architect and optimize scalable cloud-native data systems, the full-time remote Lead Data Engineer will lead the development of enterprise data platforms using Databricks and AWS while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain robust data pipelines on AWS utilizing Databricks
- Establish data governance frameworks and ensure secure access controls for healthcare data
- Mentor junior engineers and drive technical best practices across the data team
Required qualifications
- 7+ years of data engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a technical lead role
- Production experience building pipelines within Databricks and deploying data infrastructure on AWS
- Hands-on experience processing Medicare Advantage data and familiarity with FHIR and HL7 standards
- Expertise in Python, PySpark, advanced SQL, and data governance using Databricks Unity Catalog
- Understanding of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA compliance
