Lead Data Engineering Instructor

Job Summary

Seeking a part-time Lead Data Engineering Instructor for a fully remote role, responsible for delivering the bootcamp curriculum, guiding students through the data pipeline lifecycle, and ensuring they acquire the necessary skills to become job-ready Data Engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the academic experience of the Data Engineering bootcamp and teach core topics including Python, SQL, and ETL/ELT pipeline design
• Facilitate hands-on labs and projects that simulate real industry data systems, ensuring students achieve program learning outcomes
• Collaborate with the Education team to improve curriculum and create engaging content for Data Engineering courses

Required qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in data engineering or a related field, with a focus on building production data pipelines or cloud data infrastructure
• Fluency in English, with hands-on experience in Python, SQL, and pipeline orchestration tools such as Airflow and dbt
• Experience with distributed processing frameworks like Apache Spark and familiarity with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake or BigQuery
• Knowledge of real-time streaming technologies like Kafka and infrastructure automation tools like Docker and Terraform
• Passion for teaching and mentoring, with a proven ability to create new techniques and learning materials
