Lead Data Scientist (NLP)

Job Summary

Leading a team of data scientists, the full-time remote Lead Data Scientist (NLP) will develop advanced natural language processing and large language model solutions for compliance and surveillance, while mentoring junior staff and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, training, and deployment of NLP and transformer-based models for financial surveillance use cases
• Collect, analyze, and interpret datasets to support the development of machine learning algorithms
• Provide guidance to junior team members on model development and exploratory data analysis

Required qualifications

• Strong understanding of financial markets, compliance, and regulatory technology
• Experience with data science and machine/deep learning frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch
• Knowledge of NLP techniques and tools, including transformer models and word embedding models
• Solid grasp of statistics principles and data science methodologies
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and microservices architecture
