Lead Database Administrator
Job Summary
Seeking a hands-on Lead Database Administrator for a full-time remote position who will deploy, monitor, maintain, and optimize SQL Server and cloud-native AWS database systems to support development activities and production applications.
Key responsibilities:
- Deploy, support, and upgrade SQL Server instances and cloud-native AWS data services in collaboration with the Systems Engineering team
- Monitor database infrastructure health and troubleshoot complex SQL Server issues to ensure successful deployments
- Develop SQL commands and scripts to automate processes and enhance database performance while supporting application design and deployment
Required qualifications:
- 10+ years of Microsoft SQL Server database administration experience, including 7+ years managing large production systems
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS database services, including RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, and Redshift
- Demonstrated ability to analyze performance-related issues using diagnostic tools
- Experience with database maintenance best practices, including backup management and disaster recovery
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent practical experience; Master's degree preferred
