Lead Database Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Lead Database Engineer to manage and optimize database operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the management of PostgreSQL databases, focusing on performance tuning, backups, and security
• Identify and resolve complex database performance issues while implementing optimization techniques
• Oversee the development and optimization of ETL processes, ensuring data integrity and integration with third-party systems

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master's Degree preferred
• Advanced experience in managing and optimizing PostgreSQL databases or other DBMS with a willingness to learn PostgreSQL
• Proficiency in Linux environments and shell scripting for database automation
• Knowledge of Snowflake and its integration within database systems
• Experience with cloud services, specifically AWS and Azure, for database migration projects
