Lead Design Engineer

Job Summary

Providing advanced technical leadership, the remote Lead Design Engineer will guide a team of Senior Design Engineers in the design and implementation of complex building automation systems while ensuring engineering excellence and adherence to design standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and provide technical oversight to a team of Senior Design Engineers, ensuring project schedules and deliverables are met
• Oversee the design and implementation of DDC control systems and develop HVAC and building automation control system designs
• Conduct QA/QC reviews of design deliverables and coordinate with project teams to ensure alignment and execution

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Controls Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical for control system design
• Advanced understanding of HVAC systems, control sequences, and DDC integration
• In-depth knowledge of control communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, etc.)
• Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in engineering environments
