Lead Design Engineer

Job Summary

Collaborating closely with the Builder Experience team, the full-time Lead Design Engineer will design and develop interactive components, maintain the design system, and mentor designers while working remotely or onsite in San Francisco.

Key responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and evolve shared components, tokens, and patterns in the codebase with design support
• Translate design specifications into production-quality code and review contributions from designers and feature engineers
• Enhance product accessibility and maintain design system documentation for self-service by engineers and designers

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in product development with a focus on both design and engineering
• Experience in building or maintaining a product design system at production scale
• High proficiency in front-end development, including modern React and motion design
• Fluency in Figma for creating resources needed by designers
• Strong knowledge of accessibility standards and practices
