Lead Embedded Firmware Engineer

Job Summary

Lead Embedded Firmware Engineer, seeking a full-time contractor with over 10 years of embedded development experience to own firmware development for Matter-enabled devices, including schematic review, board bring-up, and certification.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop production-grade firmware for Matter-enabled devices from bring-up to certification
• Own firmware development across the full device lifecycle, including driver integration and OTA updates
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to debug and validate hardware and firmware interactions

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional embedded/firmware engineering experience in C/C++
• Significant experience with ESP-IDF and implementing Matter on ESP32-series silicon
• Hands-on experience with Matter transport protocols like Wi-Fi or Thread
• Familiarity with secure boot, flash encryption, and device attestation in the Matter context
• Must reside in Canada and be authorized to work without sponsorship
