Lead Embedded Firmware Engineer

Job Summary

To support the development of Matter-enabled devices, the full-time Lead Embedded Firmware Engineer will take end-to-end ownership of the device firmware stack, including schematic review, board bring-up, and production firmware, while working remotely on a contract basis.

Key responsibilities

• Develop production-grade firmware for Matter-enabled devices from bring-up to certification
• Collaborate with hardware engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure production readiness of devices
• Debug complex interoperability issues across Matter ecosystems using various hardware debugging tools

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of professional embedded/firmware engineering experience in C/C++
• Significant experience with ESP-IDF and implementing Matter on ESP32-series silicon
• Hands-on experience with firmware-level debugging of protocols such as Wi-Fi or Thread
• Familiarity with secure boot, flash encryption, and device attestation in the Matter context
• Must reside in the continental US and be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
