Lead Embedded Software Engineer
Job Summary
Seeking a skilled Lead Embedded Software Engineer for a full-time remote position, responsible for overseeing the design, development, and testing of complex software for embedded processing products used in defense applications, while driving architecture decisions and resolving advanced software issues.
Key responsibilities:
- Participate in discussions to generate software specifications and requirements for new products and enhancements
- Collaborate with systems engineering and hardware teams to create sustainable solutions and resolve software/hardware problems
- Plan, design, develop, and test new embedded computing software or enhancements in compliance with industry standards
Required qualifications:
- U.S. citizenship and active US DoD Clearance required
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
- 8-12+ years of progressive software development experience, with 5+ years in developing software systems and 4+ years in a lead role
- Hands-on experience with C/C++, Linux, VxWorks, and embedded software development tools
- Full software lifecycle development experience in accordance with DO-178C and CMMI
