Lead Engineer

Job Summary

Driving the next phase of Canary's Voice AI product, the full-time Lead Engineer will manage a team of engineers, oversee system architecture, and ensure the delivery of reliable voice experiences for major hospitality brands in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Directly manage a pod of engineers focused on inbound call handling, reservation booking, and service requests for the Voice AI product
• Own the architecture of telephony integrations and real-time AI components while driving improvements in call quality and operational metrics
• Collaborate with Product Managers to influence the roadmap and mentor engineers within the team

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of strong engineering experience
• 2+ years of leadership experience in successful engineering teams
• Solid knowledge of backend application development
• Hands-on experience with real-time or streaming systems
• Demonstrated ability to ship high-quality, scalable products
