Lead Engineer, Order Management
Job Summary
As a hands-on technical leader, the full-time remote Lead Engineer, Order Management will manage complex initiatives related to checkout, order creation, and fulfillment orchestration, translating business objectives into scalable technical solutions.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead multi-sprint Order Management initiatives from problem framing and technical design through implementation and post-launch measurement
- Design and build reliable services and workflows across order lifecycle management and partner integrations, focusing on data consistency and scalability
- Drive technical decisions by evaluating options and balancing near-term delivery with long-term maintainability and system simplification
Required qualifications:
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with complex backend systems
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as Go, Ruby, Java, or Python
- Strong experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL and operating services on major cloud platforms
- Proven track record of leading complex initiatives from discovery to operational follow-through
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
