Lead Functional Business Analyst

Job Summary

Leading a team of Business Analysts remotely, the full-time salaried Lead Functional Business Analyst will guide a major AI modernization initiative within the Department of Veterans Affairs, focusing on business process analysis, requirements strategy, and stakeholder engagement to enhance healthcare systems for Veterans.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and guide a team of Business Analysts in extracting and validating business rules from VistA/MUMPS Prosthetics functionality
• Define and continuously improve the BA methodology and playbook for consistency across Prosthetics Delivery scrum teams
• Facilitate design thinking workshops and usability testing with VA stakeholders to validate current-state findings and shape future enhancements

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, Human-Centered Design, or related discipline (Master's preferred)
• 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a focus on leading or mentoring analysts in enterprise IT or healthcare modernization
• Demonstrated understanding of VA VistA and the Prosthetics module, including workflows for ordering, procurement, fitting, claims, and inventory
• Practical experience applying human-centered design methods to validate and shape system requirements
• Strong track record of facilitating stakeholder discussions and translating complex system behavior into clear requirements
