Lead Gateway Engineer

Job Summary

Providing senior technical execution for enterprise API gateway engineering, the full-time Lead Gateway Engineer will manage modernization, migration, and configuration activities in a remote capacity, guiding implementation patterns and technical coordination across legacy and target API gateway environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead product-specific API gateway engineering for enterprise platforms, including legacy IBM webMethods
• Configure gateway settings for routes, services, authentication patterns, and environment promotion
• Support API migration planning, including inventory review, sequencing, and validation evidence

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in API management, integration engineering, or related enterprise systems work
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise API gateway products such as Google Apigee or MuleSoft
• Demonstrated experience implementing secure API gateway capabilities in production environments
• Experience with API security patterns including OAuth2/OIDC, SAML, and token validation
• Strong documentation and technical communication skills
