Lead HIM Technician

Job Summary

Monitoring and auditing health information management functions, the full-time remote Lead HIM Technician will serve as a working supervisor, ensuring compliance with regulations while managing sensitive medical records and guiding staff within established policies.

Key responsibilities

• Scans and prepares patient documents to ensure accuracy in electronic medical records and assigns correct document identification numbers
• Processes requests for release of information in accordance with hospital policies and state and federal regulations
• Prepares reports, conducts chart audits, and retrieves charts for delivery or review as needed

Required qualifications

• High School Education/GED or equivalent is required
• Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience is preferred
• Five years of relevant experience is preferred
