Lead HIM Technician
Job Summary
To support the day-to-day operations of the Health Information Management (HIM) department, the full-time Lead HIM Technician will monitor workflows, assist in training staff, and ensure compliance with quality standards while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor daily HIM operations, including processing chart requests and adjusting work assignments to meet deadlines
- Assist in the training and development of new and existing HIM staff, serving as a resource for team members
- Conduct quality and productivity audits, documenting results and identifying opportunities for process improvement
Required qualifications
- Experience in Health Information Management or a related healthcare environment
- Currently enrolled in or interested in enrolling in an RHIT program
- Strong understanding of HIM workflows, including chart retrieval and record maintenance
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities and adjust workflows based on departmental needs
- Working knowledge of HIPAA requirements and commitment to maintaining confidentiality
