Lead IBM i Systems Engineer
Job Summary
Providing advanced technical leadership in a full-time remote capacity, the Lead IBM i Systems Engineer will manage the health, performance, and security of the IBM Power and IBM i environment while supporting mission-critical ERP applications.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the senior technical escalation point for complex operational issues and performance tuning across IBM Power and IBM i environments
- Administer and optimize IBM i environments, including system configuration, patching, upgrades, and capacity planning
- Advance infrastructure automation and security practices while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support platform modernization
Required qualifications
- Five (5) or more years of hands-on experience with IBM i OS and IBM Power Systems in enterprise production environments
- Experience with IBM Power hardware, HMC, LPARs/PowerVM, and VIOS administration and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with high-availability and disaster recovery solutions within an IBM i environment
- Proficiency in CL scripting or similar automation tools for IBM i administration
- Strong understanding of ITIL processes and the ability to participate in on-call rotations for support
