Lead Java Engineer
Job Summary
To support a growing engineering team, the full-time Lead Java Engineer will own architecture across products and platforms, introduce new technologies and best practices, and mentor engineers while working remotely in Canada.
Key responsibilities
- Define and evolve platform and application architecture, leading architecture reviews and influencing roadmaps
- Evaluate and introduce new technologies, establishing best practices in design, testing, and production readiness
- Partner across teams to resolve complex initiatives and drive alignment among stakeholders
Required qualifications
- Ten years of overall experience, with at least five years as a Staff or Principal engineer at B2B SaaS startups
- Strong working knowledge of Java/J2EE, Oracle, Postgres, AWS, GCP, Azure, and modern frontend frameworks
- Proven success in setting architectural direction and making durable technical decisions across multiple teams
- Experience with global cloud systems and production operations at scale, including FedRAMP certification support
- A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field; a master's degree is preferred
