Lead Life Underwriter
Job Summary
To support a growing Specialty Underwriting Team, the remote Lead Life Underwriter will analyze and underwrite complex individual life insurance applications, making critical risk decisions and mentoring junior team members.
Key responsibilities
- Cross train and underwrite EB, GI/SI, and COLI business
- Evaluate and assess complex risks to determine acceptance, modification, or decline of insurance applications
- Mentor team members and provide second signature reviews on life insurance applications
Required qualifications
- 5-7+ years of experience in Underwriting Individual Life Insurance
- Undergraduate degree or 4+ years of comparable work experience
- Demonstrated excellence in risk assessment and decision-making
- Strong skills in analyzing complex financial documents
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
