Lead Medical Records Coder

Job Summary

Leading a team in a full-time remote capacity, the Lead Medical Records Coder will oversee office operations, coordinate daily staff assignments, and ensure coding accuracy while serving as a resource for subordinate staff.

Key responsibilities

• Oversees daily operations and coordinates work assignments for coding staff
• Ensures coding accuracy through ongoing data quality checks and resolves complex coding issues
• Assists in personnel-related duties, including training new staff and preparing performance evaluations

Required qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 3 years of experience as a Medical Coder
• Associate's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Knowledge of ICD-10CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems required
• Working knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy required
• Preferred certifications include RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or CMC
