Lead PLC Design Engineer

Job Summary

Providing technical leadership in a remote capacity, the full-time Lead PLC Design Engineer will oversee the design, documentation, and implementation of PLC-based control systems, ensuring quality and consistency across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of PLC-based control systems, including control panel layouts and network architectures
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure alignment with project scope, schedule, and technical requirements
• Perform QA/QC reviews of drawings and documentation, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical
• Expert-level understanding of PLC-based control systems and industrial networks
• Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, UL 508A)
• 7+ years of experience in controls design or industrial automation
