Lead Power Market Analyst

Job Summary

Leading the development of production cost models, the full-time Lead Power Market Analyst will work remotely to support utility-scale renewable energy projects by analyzing transmission patterns and optimizing market strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop production cost models and analyze transmission renewable industry patterns using AURORA and similar tools to predict electricity prices
• Perform optimization modeling to forecast congestion and assist in locational marginal pricing assessments
• Advise on zonal and nodal analysis to enhance the company's market platform and facilitate transmission topology comparisons

Required qualifications

• 5-10+ years of experience in transmission power markets focused on production cost modeling and market operations
• Experience with AURORA or similar modeling programs like PROMOD, PLEXOS, or GRIDVIEW
• Strong analytical background in capacity prices, regional energy pricing, and transmission constraints
• Proficiency in data visualization tools, particularly PowerBI, and automation skills in Excel, VBA, SQL, Python, or MATLAB
• Understanding of national energy markets and renewable energy portfolios across various ISOs/RTOs
