Lead Power Market Analyst

Job Summary

Driving transmission zonal and nodal production cost modeling efforts, the full-time Lead Power Market Analyst will facilitate operational assessments and support the commercial strategy of utility-scale renewable energy projects in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop production cost models and analyze transmission renewable industry patterns using AURORA, PLEXOS, PROMOD, GRIDVIEW, or UPLAN
• Perform optimization modeling to forecast congestion and assist in locational marginal pricing (LMP) assessments
• Advise on zonal and nodal analysis to enhance the company's market platform and facilitate transmission topology comparisons

Required qualifications

• 5-10+ years of experience in transmission power market, focusing on production cost modeling or transmission market operations
• Experience with AURORA or similar modeling programs like PROMOD, PLEXOS, GRIDVIEW, or UPLAN
• Proficiency in data visualization tools like PowerBI and strong automation skills in Excel, VBA, SQL, Python, or MATLAB
• Understanding of national energy markets and renewable energy portfolios (e.g., PJM, ERCOT, SPP, MISO, NYISO, ISO-NE, CAISO)
• Experience in battery storage or large-scale renewable energy projects is a significant plus
