Job Summary
Driving transmission zonal and nodal production cost modeling efforts, the full-time Lead Power Market Analyst will facilitate operational assessments and support the commercial strategy for utility-scale renewable energy projects in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Develop production cost models and analyze transmission renewable industry patterns using AURORA and similar tools to predict electricity prices
- Perform optimization modeling to forecast congestion and assist in locational marginal pricing (LMP) assessments
- Advise on zonal and nodal analysis to enhance the company's market platform and select trading nodes based on market congestion patterns
Required qualifications
- 5-10+ years of transmission power market experience focused on production cost modeling or market operations in a technical leadership role
- Experience with AURORA or similar modeling programs like PROMOD, PLEXOS, or GRIDVIEW
- Hands-on experience with various types of analysis, including capacity prices and transmission constraints
- Data visualization experience in PowerBI and strong automation skills in Excel, VBA, SQL, Python, or MATLAB
- Understanding of national energy markets and renewable energy portfolios, with battery storage experience as a plus
