Lead Power Market Analyst

Job Summary

Driving transmission zonal and nodal production cost modeling efforts, the full-time Lead Power Market Analyst will facilitate operational assessments and pioneer the development of a proprietary energy storage management platform while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Develop production cost models and analyze transmission renewable industry patterns to predict electricity prices and support project development
• Perform optimization modeling to forecast congestion and assist in locational marginal pricing assessments
• Advise on zonal and nodal analysis to enhance the company's market platform and select trading nodes based on market congestion patterns

Required qualifications

• 5-10+ years of experience in transmission power market focused on production cost modeling or market operations in a leadership role
• Experience with AURORA or similar modeling programs like PROMOD, PLEXOS, GRIDVIEW, or UPLAN
• Strong background in various types of analysis including capacity prices, regional energy pricing, and transmission constraints
• Proficiency in data visualization tools like PowerBI and automation skills in Excel, VBA, SQL, Python, or MATLAB
• Understanding of national energy markets and renewable energy portfolios such as PJM, ERCOT, and CAISO
