Job Summary
Driving transmission zonal and nodal production cost modeling efforts, the full-time Lead Power Market Analyst will develop and analyze models to support utility-scale renewable energy projects while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Develop production cost models and analyze transmission renewable industry patterns to predict electricity prices and support project development
- Perform optimization modeling to forecast congestion and assist in locational marginal pricing assessments
- Advise on zonal and nodal analysis to enhance the company's market platform and facilitate transmission topology updates
Required qualifications
- 5-10+ years of experience in transmission power market focused on production cost modeling and market operations
- Proficiency in AURORA or similar modeling programs like PROMOD, PLEXOS, or GRIDVIEW
- Experience with various types of analysis, including capacity prices, congestion analysis, and interconnection assessments
- Data visualization experience in tools such as PowerBI
- Understanding of national energy markets and renewable energy portfolios across multiple ISOs/RTOs
