Lead Principal Software Engineer

Job Summary

Driving the technical evolution of the Absolute Ocean SaaS platform, the fully remote Lead Principal Software Engineer will maintain hands-on execution across the software stack, architect scalable solutions, and mentor a high-performing engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain hands-on mastery of core technologies, actively coding and building across the full stack to deliver high-impact software solutions
• Architect and optimize the technical design of the Absolute Ocean platform, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance across various environments
• Mentor and develop a team of software engineers, leading code reviews and fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in high-growth SaaS environments
• Strong expertise in AWS, Python, Go, React, PostgreSQL, and Swagger/OpenAPI
• Proven experience in defining and building event-based microservice architectures within containerized environments
• Demonstrated experience as a technical lead or architect responsible for mentoring developers and driving system designs
