Job Summary
Leading complex protection and control projects, the full-time remote Lead Protection and Control Engineer will execute engineering and consulting services for transmission, distribution, and industrial markets, focusing on designing, programming, testing, and commissioning applications for power systems.
Key responsibilities
- Design and deliver complex protection solutions for electrical utilities and industrial clients
- Conduct engineering studies and analyses, including short circuit and load flow studies
- Create relay setting files and test customized Protection and Control solutions at customer installations
Required qualifications
- B.S. or higher degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering specialized in power systems
- 7+ years of experience in design, study, and analysis of electric power systems
- Knowledge of power system analysis, fault study, and protection theory
- Experience with power system tools such as MATLAB, ASPEN, or SKM
- Familiarity with substation communication protocols like IEC 61850 and DNP
