Job Summary
Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Lead Scientist in Genomics will ensure the accuracy, integrity, and regulatory compliance of genomic test data prior to clinical reporting while collaborating cross-functionally to resolve discrepancies and uphold laboratory standards.
Key responsibilities
- Perform detailed reviews of analytical, bioinformatics, and QC data to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and laboratory accreditation requirements
- Verify quality control metrics and ensure all data and electronic records are complete and accurate
- Collaborate with laboratory staff and quality assurance to investigate discrepancies and support audits and inspections
Required qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in a high complexity clinical laboratory setting, with a minimum of 2 years in molecular pathology
- Hands-on familiarity with next-generation sequencing (NGS) data and other genomic technologies
- Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences; Master's or higher degree preferred
- In-depth technical knowledge of molecular biology and proficiency with analytical tools and statistical methods
- Working knowledge of CLIA, CAP, ISO 15189, and Good Documentation Practices
