Lead Security Control Assessor

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Lead Security Control Assessor to support cybersecurity solutions for the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team in conducting security control assessments and generating reports
• Perform comprehensive assessments of security controls for IT systems to evaluate their effectiveness
• Plan and conduct security authorization reviews and develop assurance cases for system installations

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in Cybersecurity policy, risk management, or security control assessments
• Knowledge of cybersecurity and privacy principles, including confidentiality, integrity, and availability
• Familiarity with security threats and vulnerabilities related to systems and applications
• Understanding of data security standards such as PII, PCI, and PHI
