Job Summary
To support the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the full-time Lead Security Systems Engineer will lead the engineering, implementation, and lifecycle management of enterprise security architectures in a fully remote capacity, focusing on secure infrastructure and Zero Trust initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the engineering and implementation of enterprise security architectures supporting NIH mission systems
- Provide technical leadership for security engineering initiatives across multiple operating environments
- Design secure cloud architectures and implement Zero Trust Architecture initiatives aligned with NIST SP 800-207
Required qualifications
- Public Trust Clearance or the ability to obtain one
- B.S. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in systems engineering, infrastructure engineering, or cybersecurity engineering
- Experience supporting large federal IT environments and implementing Zero Trust Architecture
- Experience designing secure enterprise infrastructure and supporting FISMA and RMF compliance activities
