Lead Senior Software Engineer
Job Summary
Leading a technical team in a full-time remote capacity, the Lead Senior Software Engineer will design and develop the content-exchange bridge for the Library of Congress, focusing on system integration, full stack development, and technical leadership.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical lead for a small engineering team, authoring architecture decision records and establishing coding standards
- Design and build integration layers and versioned API client contracts to connect enterprise systems with differing data models
- Write production code across a mixed Python (Django) and Java codebase to manage digital content and workflows
Required qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in information system design and complex software development
- Production application development experience using Python with the Django framework
- Demonstrated experience in Java within a mixed Python/Java architecture
- Hands-on experience with AWS services and Terraform for Infrastructure as Code
- Experience building and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and security scanning tools like SonarQube
