Lead Software Engineer

Job Summary

Leading the design and delivery of scalable backend systems, the full-time remote Lead Software Engineer will own critical product components, collaborate with technical leads, and drive improvements in system quality and engineering standards.

Key responsibilities

• Own delivery for significant features or systems, from requirements clarification to execution and iteration
• Design and build scalable backend services, APIs, and data pipelines supporting core product functionality
• Mentor engineers through design reviews and provide hands-on technical guidance

Required qualifications

• 6+ years of overall software engineering experience, with 3+ years in building and shipping production systems
• 5+ years of hands-on coding experience in Python and/or TypeScript, including API and service development
• Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and CI/CD practices
• Proven ability to design and scale distributed systems in production environments
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
