Lead Software Engineer

Job Summary

Owning the technical leadership for the Payments Platform, the full-time Lead Software Engineer will drive architecture decisions, ensure quality and reliability, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own technical health and quality for the Payments Platform, including architecture decisions and release cycles
• Drive architecture decisions across API gateway, event infrastructure, webhooks, and reconciliation systems
• Mentor engineers and ensure team knowledge is structured and current to facilitate efficient operations

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years in a lead or technical leadership role
• Deep expertise in payments systems and event-driven architecture, with experience in payment provider integrations (Stripe preferred)
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js, along with experience in AWS serverless infrastructure
• Understanding of financial correctness requirements such as idempotency and reconciliation
• AI-first mindset, actively using AI coding tools and evaluating AI-generated code for correctness
