Lead Software Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a remote Lead Software Engineer with expertise in Kafka-based event-driven integrations, this full-time position will focus on designing and implementing scalable enterprise integration solutions while providing technical guidance and consultation to project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain Confluent Kafka clusters in a multi-data center and cloud environment
• Build real-time data pipelines using Kafka Connect, Kafka Streams, and KSQL/FLinkSQL while monitoring system metrics for performance issues
• Provide technical advice and direction to associates and management, aligning developmental projects with long-term business strategies

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with 6 years of experience in software application development and maintenance, or a High School Diploma/GED with 10 years of experience
• Previous experience in designing, configuring, and maintaining Confluent Kafka clusters
• Proficient in Java, Python, or Go
• Experience with cloud-native architecture and DevOps tools, including CI/CD pipelines
• Hands-on experience in integrating with legacy systems and modernizing monolithic applications
