Lead Software Engineer

Job Summary

To lead a team within the API Engineering group, the full-time Lead Software Engineer will manage software engineers, set technical direction, and ensure high-quality code delivery while working remotely, preferably from the Washington, D.C. metro area.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team of software engineers through effective one-on-ones and feedback
• Own team delivery, coordinating work and shipping against ambitious timelines
• Drive design and architecture for Fundrise services and contribute to the team's long-term roadmap

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with expertise in Java, Spring/Spring Boot, and Hibernate
• 3+ years of experience leading and managing engineering teams
• 4+ years of experience building and maintaining production applications on AWS
• Deep understanding of transactional database design and operations
