Lead Software Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer with over 8 years of experience, this fully remote individual contributor role will drive the delivery of complex software solutions, provide technical leadership, and mentor a talented engineering team in an agile environment.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into functional designs and technical specifications
• Maintain and enhance legacy applications developed in IBM iSeries RPGLE while ensuring compatibility with modern systems
• Enforce software engineering best practices through code reviews and automated testing

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• 8+ years of experience with I-Series development, RPG, ILE, SQLRPGLE, CL, SQL, and SDA
• 5+ years of experience in backend API & Microservices development
• 2+ years of experience in public cloud technologies (Azure or GCP)
• Experience in retail merchandising systems or supply chain processes is preferred
