Lead Software Engineer

Job Summary

To lead a cross-functional development team, the full-time Lead Software Engineer will take end-to-end ownership of a cloud platform, managing a team of five while interfacing with architects and ensuring the production maturity of a micro-frontend web application built on React and Node.js, all within a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own and extend the platform host and its federated modules, including backend services and REST APIs
• Manage and mentor the development team, conducting code reviews and enforcing engineering conventions
• Collaborate with the part-time architect on design decisions and report progress to the PMO and Department VP

Required qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience with technical leadership in a production system
• Expertise in Node.js and TypeScript, including production HTTP services
• Strong experience with React, including hooks and component architecture
• Hands-on experience with Azure services, including Container Apps and Service Bus
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
