Job Summary
Guiding the development of a robust AI infrastructure, the full-time remote Lead Software Engineer will manage the delivery of shared services and tools, set technical direction, and coach engineers while ensuring reliable and secure AI capabilities across the organization.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of shared services and tools to support AI capabilities across Root's products
- Set quarterly technical priorities that balance immediate user needs with foundational investments
- Drive decisions on reliability, security, and developer experience to facilitate easier AI adoption
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a software engineer
- 1+ years of experience leading software teams or major technical initiatives
- Deep experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS and Terraform
- Strong understanding of AI/LLM application and platform patterns
- Proven ability to identify cross-team dependencies and improve delivery outcomes
