Lead SQL Engineer

Job Summary

Leading a distributed team, the full-time remote Lead SQL Engineer will manage custom analytics requests, oversee the delivery of dashboards and queries, and enhance customer engagement through direct technical leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of SQL engineers across the US and Eastern Europe
• Own the end-to-end service model for custom analytics requests, ensuring quality and timely delivery
• Act as a customer-facing technical leader, translating business questions into actionable SQL deliverables

Required qualifications

• 6+ years of experience writing and shipping production SQL at scale, preferably in e-commerce or customer analytics
• Strong experience with BigQuery and/or ClickHouse, focusing on performance optimization and data quality
• 2+ years of experience managing data engineers or customer-facing technical delivery teams
• Experience with request-driven service models, including intake, ticketing, and delivery standards
• Hands-on familiarity with modern e-commerce data stacks and tools such as Shopify, Meta, and Google
