Lead Substation Designer

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Lead Substation Physical Designer, the full-time remote position will focus on developing 3D models and producing accurate drawing packages for complex HV substation projects, while supporting Electrical Substation Project Engineers.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop HV physical designs and detailed substation layouts from Single Line Diagrams and sketches
• Create complex drawing packages and detailed bills of materials with minimal supervision
• Implement BIM Execution Plans and collaborate on 3D model auditing and clash detection

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering technology
• Minimum 7 years of HV substation physical design experience
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards, particularly US Utility substation design standards
• Extensive experience with Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD 3D, and related 3D engineering design tools
• Demonstrated ability to produce HV substation general arrangements and installation details independently
