Lead Systems Engineer

Job Summary

Providing technical leadership for a remote team, the full-time Lead Systems Engineer will manage the operation and continuous improvement of cloud infrastructure (AWS), mentor engineers, and ensure platform security and performance.

Key responsibilities:

• Oversee the operation, maintenance, and enhancement of cloud infrastructure and supporting systems
• Lead and mentor a small team of engineers, coordinating tasks and supporting professional development
• Automate infrastructure operations and ensure compliance with security standards and audits

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 9+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience in lieu of education
• Proven experience operating and maintaining cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS, in a technical lead role
• Experience mentoring or leading engineering teams with people-management responsibilities
• Expertise in infrastructure-as-code tools, particularly Terraform
• Strong knowledge of systems administration, networking, containerization, and DevOps concepts
