Lead Web Performance Engineer

Job Summary

Owning the speed and efficiency of the web platform, the full-time Lead Web Performance Engineer will set the technical direction for web performance, optimize rendering and load times, and implement caching strategies in a hybrid work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Take responsibility for load times, rendering performance, and runtime efficiency across the web platform
• Define the architecture, standards, and tooling for performance optimization
• Design and maintain caching architectures to minimize latency and maximize cache hit rates

Required qualifications

• Deep experience in web performance engineering at significant scale
• Strong expertise in rendering, caching, CDN configuration, and Core Web Vitals
• Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript with an understanding of browser engines and network interactions
• Experience with real user monitoring and synthetic performance testing
• Technical leadership experience in influencing performance practices across engineering teams
