Job Summary
To support the development of early math knowledge and skills, the remote Learning Scientist, Mathematics will utilize expertise in mathematics learning to build models, design research studies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance educational products for PreK-5 classrooms.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop math learning progressions and knowledge maps that accurately represent student learning pathways
- Conduct research studies to evaluate the effectiveness of educational products in supporting teaching and learning
- Translate educational policies and standards into measurable student skills and competencies
Required qualifications
- PhD in developmental psychology, mathematics education, curriculum and instruction, cognitive psychology, or a related field with a mathematics education focus
- Strong background in qualitative or quantitative research methods applied to learning sciences studies
- Familiarity with mathematics content learning standards and learning models across multiple grade bands
- Experience as an early-grades classroom teacher is a plus
- Proficiency with spreadsheet and productivity software, and a willingness to adopt an AI-first approach
