Leave of Absence Specialist

Job Summary

Managing the full lifecycle of leave of absence and employee care cases, the temporary remote Leave of Absence Specialist will serve as a subject matter expert on leave policies, ensure timely updates and documentation, and collaborate with HR and third-party vendors to facilitate smooth transitions during employee leaves.

Key responsibilities

• Manage leave of absence, disability, accommodation, and workers' compensation cases for assigned regions
• Communicate status updates and next steps clearly and professionally to employees and managers
• Interpret and apply relevant laws including FMLA, ADA, and state-specific leave regulations

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience managing leave of absence and accommodation cases in a high-volume environment
• Working knowledge of federal and state leave regulations including FMLA and ADA
• Experience using a leave management system and HRIS platforms preferred
• Strong organizational, documentation, and time-management skills
