Legacy Systems Migration Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Legacy Systems Migration Engineer for a contract position that is 100% remote.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze, read, and compile COBOL programs using an open-source compiler while maintaining original processing logic
• Convert Assembler code into C/C++ for deployment in a modern environment
• Translate legacy JCL job streams into YAML workflows for ingestion into the Kestra orchestration platform

Required Qualifications

• Deep experience with COBOL, Assembler, JCL, and legacy mainframe environments
• Strong proficiency in C++, C, and/or Python
• Experience with modernization or migration of legacy systems
• Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools (Kestra experience preferred but not required)
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, schedule-driven project environment
