Legal Engineering Manager

Job Summary

To build and lead the discipline of legal engineering within R&D, the full-time Manager of Legal Engineering will own the substantive legal quality of AI-driven products, ensuring they meet the needs of legal professionals while working in a hybrid remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define and structure legal knowledge for various matter types and practice areas across products
• Design and implement evaluation frameworks for legal AI to ensure quality and effectiveness of outputs
• Lead a small team of legal engineers while collaborating with cross-functional teams to serve as the legal authority on product decisions

Required qualifications

• Law degree with 1-3 years of practice experience in a law firm or corporate legal department
• Fluency in modern AI development tools and methodologies
• Strong understanding of legal work processes and substantive quality in legal products
• Experience in high-autonomy environments with a focus on structured thinking and rigorous testing
