Legal Knowledge Expert Coder

Job Summary

To support AI training initiatives, the part-time temporary Legal Knowledge Expert Coder will provide domain expertise, evaluate annotation quality, and develop guidelines, all while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Guide research teams to enhance AI model performance by addressing knowledge gaps in legal practice
• Create and maintain high-quality annotation guidelines to ensure accuracy and consistency in training data
• Evaluate and grade vendor-produced annotations, providing feedback to optimize quality

Required qualifications

• Ph.D. or advanced law degree (LL.B, J.D., LL.M, LL.D) in a law-related field
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in legal practice, academia, or related fields
• Proficiency in coding, particularly in Python or other advanced programming languages
• Experience with AI tools, specifically Claude code or similar technologies
• Strong analytical skills to assess annotation quality and provide actionable insights
