Job Summary
Reviewing and editing transcripts prepared by court reporters, the contract Legal Scopist will ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with legal formatting standards while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Review and refine deposition transcripts for grammar, formatting, and legal accuracy
- Ensure strict adherence to company style guidelines and industry standards
- Interact clearly and effectively with internal teams while upholding confidentiality
Required qualifications
- Experience as a legal scopist or legal transcription editor
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology, formatting, and style standards
- Detail-oriented and dependable with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Comfortable in a 1099 independent contractor role
- Familiarity with AI transcription platforms is a strong bonus
